Majnun in the desert.
Majnun (Arabic - mad, obsessed with the genie), the nickname of the semi-legendary Arab poet of the Banu Amir tribe. Majnun became famous for his devoted love for the tribe-mate Leyli, whom her father gave out for another. The unfortunate poet retired to the desert, where he composed verses in honor of his beloved. The prose story of Leyli and Majnun inspired many poets and prose writers of the East.
If tears do not flow into my grave,
That my grave will be the poorest grave.
If I am comforted, if I find comfort, -
I will calm down not from happiness, but from bitter bitterness.
If I forget Leila, if I am persistent, strong -
Will the poverty of the spirit be called persistence and strength?
