Bayat Mukhtarov is an Uzbek sculptor and avant-garde artist, the first in Uzbekistan to apply performance and happening in his work.

He was born on March 29, 1946 in Andijan (Uzbekistan), but in his childhood his family moved to live in Tashkent. In 1979 he graduated from the Tashkent Art Institute.
