Chilla.
Chilla (translated from Farsi "forty days") - in the culture of the peoples of Uzbekistan and other Central Asian / Eastern countries, this is the period of the debilitating 40-day windless summer heat, during which, according to tradition, a forty-day fast with prayers and chillonah meditations was held. According to the chilla calendar, usually, although not every year, it fits into the period from June 25 to August 3, when there are maxima of summer temperatures. After August 5, high daytime temperatures may persist, but at night a cool breeze is beginning to blow from the mountains.
